This year, I gained some much-needed insights about life that took me seventy trips around the sun to finally figure out. I'm sharing them here in the hopes it won't take you that long.
Do not try to save the whole world….
Many years ago, my favorite cousin's three year old granddaughter, a faerie sprite with honey-colored pigtails and an open heart, announced that she wanted to have a naked tea party.
Sometimes, the simplest things can connect us.
What do you think of when you hear the term - self-nurturing? Do you see it as an indulgence because you have much too much to do? Or, does it sound like a bubble bath and shopping for new shoes, and you only take showers and wear old sneakers?
“Doing” is not always the answer. Sometimes, it’s simply “Being.”
.....said me, never. But somehow I'm digging this piece which has been scrubbed and rubbed out within an inch of its life.
In the spirit of the season, I wanted to reshare a vivid childhood memory I recorded for The Listen Project, our local library’s digital life story collection.
