Swedish Apple Pie Recipe
I don’t know about you, but sitting down with a cup of coffee or hot tea and a big slice of apple pie is one of life’s ultimate pleasures. That’s why this recipe has become an all-time favorite. If you’re intimidated by making crusts, like I am, this will be the easiest and yummiest alternative you’ll ever enjoy!!
Prep Time 20 mins Cook Time 60 minutes Serves 6 to 8
Ingredients
Pie Filling
4 to Granny Smith apples or enough to fill a large pie plate
1 tbsp sugar (I use two)
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Topping
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup butter melted
1 egg
1/8 tsp salt (pinch)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 325°F
Peel, core, and slice apples 1/4" thick. Fill pie plate with the slices. Sprinkle with 1-2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the topping ingredients. Spread over the apples in the pie plate.
Bake for 1 hour or until crust lightly browns. (as an option, after an hour, I bumped the heat up to 350 degrees and baked another 10 minutes. Either way, it’s delicious!)
Let cool and enjoy!
